I have been reading a new blog about building wealth by a guy that calls himself cost cutter and he did a post today called “Your Job is Not Secure” and I really liked it a lot. He brings up many good points and as I believe that a recession will be hitting us pretty hard in mid to late 2008 the time to start thinking about these things is now.

He gives ten “tips” to stay ahead when the chips are down, my favorite one was his first one,

“Never see yourself as secure in your job, have a plan B. Always know which competitor or similar company would be best for you to go work for. Cultivate relationships within said company, don’t act like you are ready to switch if you are not but be on the radar”.

Good words to live by in my opinion. If you get a chance give his blog and this post a read I have a feeling you will find it interesting.

So Halloween is just around the corner.  Our son Matt is now 18 and long past dressing up and going out to trick or treat but we still try to have a bit of fun.  We try to make our house fun for the kids that come around, hell it is only one time a year a kid can actually “take candy from a stranger” with out being at risk.

So we open our garage, put in a fog machine, lots of decorations and black lights and some spooky sounds on a CD plays.  I bring out my dog (Husky the kids all call him a wolf) and we just have a blast giving out candy.  Our place isn’t where you get one tiny piece either we give each kiddo a big hand full.

So how do you celebrate Halloween?  How do you make is special for the kids in your neighborhood.

I have been reading Wealth Building 101 by Donald Trump and really enjoying it. This book is like a play book for how to build and protect you wealth and it is actually written by a “dream team” of Trump’s personal wealth advisers and then edited by Donald himself. Hence, reading this book is like talking directly to Trump and his personal team about all aspects of building wealth.

I highly recommend you pick up this book, it is available on Amazon.com and is really an awesome book.
